MAY Farm Update
HAPPY SPRING ALL!
As I say goodbye to Daffodil and Tulips I say Hello to Hawthorn’s blooms and an abundance of green! Who doesn’t love spring? It is full of weather temper tantrums and ever thing is green and growing. I spend my free time plucking and eating those fast growing weeds. I say hello to each new green face that pops up and am so excited to meet all my green friends again. It occurred to me that life is full of Hellos and Goodbyes………so how we live the in-between is who we are!
In April we had to say Goodbye to our dog, Daisy, of 13 years. It was a sadness for everyone, especially the college kids who didn’t get a chance to say goodbye. But we buried under the peach tree and when the kids come home this summer we will make a head stone for her.
We all are recalling memories and telling stories of when she was………She use to eat orange and red crayons (no other colors) and her poop was always speckled with undigested crayons. ………April is full Hellos and Goodbyes for me, It is the month of loss and remembering yet everything is being reborn and the earth is rejoicing. Our sweet baby Peter, my mom, a good friend and Daisy is what sadness brings but the earth brightens and comes a live and baby goats are born and life is busy living and that is a happiness.
It is a month that always gets me thinking about impermanence. Living in America none of use are really face death. We have loved ones die but we don’t see our own death clearly. Coming to terms with the impermanence of everything gives a whole new perspective on life. When I meditate on my own impermanence it makes me remember to live each day with a smile and most of my worries seem trivial.

That is right Johnny!! So as you ramble through your life, day and this month. Remember that the only important thing is love and those who love you. Everything else is just what it is…life.
